Career Highlights

  • I held tenure and was a part of the art department of Clarkstown Central School District for 8 years.
  • I painted a very large mural with artist Jenn Fuentes on the Asarese-Matters Community Center on Grant St. in Buffalo.
  • I have taught art classes in Public Schools, Private Schools, Buffalo’s Juvenile Detention Center, and have been a visiting teaching artist in many other schools and after school settings.
  • Created and taught a Mural Arts program for Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology.
  • Since 2020, I have been making pottery from slabs of clay and on the potter’s wheel and can teach these skills in an educational setting.
  • From 2021 - 2023 I was hired for four different long term Art Teacher substitute positions with great reviews.
  • In 2024 I designed and painted an 8 ft fiberglass buffalo with students at Bishop Timon St. Jude high school. The theme celebrates Buffalo’s police and fire departments.

My Teaching Philosophy

My job is to inspire and keep open the creative potential in my students so they may live with knowledge, appreciation and confidence to engage with the arts.

Becoming a mother and living through the uncertain times of a pandemic have influenced how I manage my classroom.  I have learned to approach struggling students with compassion and empathy. This has earned me their trust and attention time and time again.

After adjusting to three long term art substitute positions this last year with great reviews from my references, I look forward to settling into a permanent position where myself and my students can thrive.
